If you see this approaching your city, take cover. This massive storms rained down water up to my knees, with lightning touching down very close every few seconds. It was very active and devastating. We are getting these frequently now, which is unheard of for where I live. "It's the end of the world as we know it, and I feel..." well, not so fine.
Very impressive take. The clouds are magnificent. I assume this change in weather is what we are noticing all around the world. Beautiful picture!

@Emilio Garcia: Yes, indeed it is. Your weather is changing too?

@Dimitrios: I think we need to change things ASAP, but on a legislative level. The average person doing just a few things will help, but we need massive changes mostly in how business is done - industry - the works. Life will get more scary until those who are in a place of power also wake up, but it is up to us, the people, to put pressure on those folks.
@Sergei Z: Thanks you! The storm was unreal. Lately I have been thinking that the next one will be truly devastating.
Very impressive storm! Here we are getting fewer storms than usual and it is very dry!

@Betty: Eeeesh. That is the way it will be. Things are becoming less predictable.
It certainly looks like the end, what awesome clouds. But...just a hint of what's to come.

@Observing: Yes. THat is exactly it.
The end of the world or God reminding us of his presence? either way, great color. Love the way the skyline appears as a silhouette against the clouds.

@Jeff: Thanks for the comment. It is a scary time isn't it?
@leslie: Thanks!
Wow ... great capture of the power of nature! Great colors and I like the silhouette in contrast to it. Yes, weather is changing everywhere and I don't like the reason for it ...

@Monique: It is a bit terrifying, isn't it. Life moves to quick and this change is too rapid. I think Canada is going to become a jungle in the future.
This is a terrific image - an what a storm - I wish I was there... my favourite subject!

@Scotfot: I too adore storms. I have been fascinated since I was a child, and now it borders on obsession.
hey! glad to see you have gotten some well deserved attention finally! :) and what a wonderful shot -- simply majestic!! although i am sorry storms like these have been tormenting your area lately... we are really teetering on the edge of the great unknown... the next 50 years is going to bring unprecedented reality, a new stage of man vs nature! at least there may be some marvel photo ops along the way! :P bravo terre. a faabulous pic here!!

@dj.tigersprout: Thank you! What a lovely comment, and I think I am blushing from it :)
I do agree. We are about to have some crazy weather, and getting crazier. Funny how people don't pay attention though. They are still out there, armies of soccer moms in their hummer SUVs, idling for hours at the drive through, picking up their kids a McSomething, not thinking for one second about the impact of all of this. I, for one, am teaching my kids foraging skills. It is fun, and practical. They can identify over 30 edible plants, and know how to pick and eat them. They can also identify very dangerous ones, and know to stay away. (I am not an apocalyptic nutcase, but have a great love for botany, and this just goes hand-in-hand with how I think their future may be spent. I also love camping and wilderness, and knowing basic foods to survive on is a pretty good skill. My other theory about the near future: Our next big industry will be mining landfills for plastics, and other resources... wait for that one!)
To me there are for things more beautifully frightening than a storm rolling in. I sat on my roof and watched the very same clouds roll in until my hair was standing on end from the electricity in the air. The clouds were breathtaking, but the storm was more vicious than anything I've seen in years! (I was secretly squealing with joy the whole time)

@Kate Stylee: Goodness Kate. We live in a great place. Really really great.
Fantastic colors. Those clouds seem very threatening. Good shot

@Rui: It was a terrifying storm with microbursts, and funnel clouds. I walked through it, got home, showered to warm up (was already soaked through) and then took this picture as it was exiting the horizon.
now that is a dramatic sky - beautifully captured
